Linda Hearn , Critters Creations by Linda Hearn

Linda Hearn is a soft sculpture artist based in Alberta, Canada.  Linda has been making bears for 20+ years and they have found homes all over the world.  Over the years she has created OOAK teddy bears and critters.  Her techniques have continued to evolve as she has carried on learning how to create more realistic bears.  She designs and works from her own patterns.  She also enjoys making her own accessories to accompany her bears to their new home.
 
Over the years she has dabbled in one craft or another and stumbled on bear making.  She got asked if she could make a bear from real fur and started out making memory bears from customers real fur coats but after a couple of years she found mohair and realized there were more techniques she could do using mohair And she now no longer works with real fur. She said a way to a bears soul is through their eyes.
 
Linda loves to learn about all the latest techniques available today.  She uses taxidermy eyes on her creations which gives them life!  Some of her favourite mediums include, pastels, epoxy clay, paints, leather, mohair, taxidermy glass eyes. 
 
She has been Featured in magazine and has won several awards.  She has only entered into a very few competitions.
