Barbora Mihoková , Mariones

Barbora Mihoková is a puppet maker from Slovakia, specialized in making portrait puppets – personalised marionettes of real people, based on reference photographs. Growing up in a theater environment she learned a lot from her mom, a professional puppeteer, who has taught her everything about marionettes and the process of making them. Barbora created her first personalized marionette in 2013. Over the past seven years, she has made hundreds of marionettes and now she also works in a puppet theatre, creates fictional characters, accessories and theatrical properties.

She believes that learning is a never-ending process, that’s why she loves experimenting with materials and tries to improve herself with every single puppet she creates.
