“GIDDAY from Bribie Island Australia. It has now been over 25 years since Wendy Armstrong created her first M. E. Bears And Critters.

“Everything I make and sell is from my own original designs”. – says Wendy.

Making Bears, and Critters is such a pleasure and Wendy is always excited when she sees a new little face looking back at her.  Her creations have travelled to live all over the world, and when they are adopted she feels like a part of her has gone with them.  Wendy even gets postcards and Facebook greetings from many of her Critters from their new homes.

They are completely hand stitched with love and are usually fully jointed – even her tiny 1/12 scale bears. Wendy only uses high quality fabrics – Mohair, Sassy fur, French Synthetics, as well as vintage long pile fur, wool felt and ultra suede.  She often spends a great deal of time dyeing or colour washing some of  these materials for a more individual appearance.

Wendy has been a feature writer for Teddy Bear Times and Australian Bear Creations, as well as having her critters featured in most of the bear magazines.  She has won Toby Industry Awards in both 2012 and 2013, an URSA Award in 2012, as well as a number of other International Awards around the same time.
