Algirdas Mazgelis , Algisbear 

Algirdas Mazgelis lives in Spain near Gibraltar.  He has a degree in Applied Arts and has been working with different materials for many years.

In 2015, he decided to work seriously at making teddy bears under his brand name “Algis bear”.  Algirdas makes all kinds of creatures, Teddy Bears and their friends each with different characters and moods.  His toys are made using diverse fabrics (mohair, alpaca, high quality faux fur, natural German wool, polymer clay, wool and alpaca threads, pure silk) and varied techniques (hand sewing, needle felting, sculpture, knitting, embroidery).  All of his creations are unique and made using his own original designs.

Algirdas has started three new collections this year: “CHARMING MONSTERS”, “SAFARI” and “EMBROIDERY BEAUTY”.

In 2018, 2019 and 2020, he participated in many online teddy bear shows and in some of them his creations were prize winners.  In 2019 and 2020, he participated in some shows in Europe including TEDDYBÄR TOTAL (Munster, Germany), Hugglets (London) and Teddy Holland (Utrecht, Netherlands).

His creation, Eagle Alexander has won two awards: TOBY Industry’s Choice Award 2019 and TOBY Public award 2019.
