Anna Potapova is a Doll Artist from Russia. She has been needle felting dolls and teaching the art of making them for more than 10 years. Anna has been actively participating in doll shows in Russia, USA and Europe. She is also a proud member of the American National Institute of Doll Artists (NIADA)
Anna found much interest and excitement creating dolls with wool. The unusual material “felt” is very flexible and has the ability to form and create dolls/sculptures with warmth and soul. They are unbreakable and very pleasant to the touch.
Her dolls have no armatures in them. The body is formed without cutting into the felt and the doll hair is implanted into the head surface. To create the intricate expressions that her dolls are known for, Anna use coloured wool to mimic the facial tones.
