Lisa Heiland is a soft sculpture artist based in Amherst, Ohio.  She designs and creates OOAK artist teddy bears and other animals.

 

Lisa’s company has had several names through the years, when she first started making and selling bears 25 years ago.  She shared a company name “Sweet Stuffings” with her best friend Sharee Dorsey and made bears and pigs mostly.  Back then, they were only sold for $25 at the local craft shows with wool suiting for the bodies and muslin.

 

She took  the plunge into mohair, and changed her business name to “Leadbottom Bears”.   She still uses this name in a way, but has just shortened it to give it a fresh name, which is how Lbbears was born!

 

She designed her own patterns and uses the best quality fabrics accessories and findings that the suppliers have to offer.  Lisa loves using all the latest techniques which are available today. She uses doll eyes on her creations which gives them life!  Some of her favourite mediums include, pastels, epoxy clay, paints, leather, high quality faux fur and taxidermy claws.
