Sabine Cheshire , BeeBears
Sabine Cheshire started making Teddy Bears in 1998. At that time she was living in the UK. She now lives in a small town near Berlin, Germany.
During her visit to the Kensington Dolls House Festival in London, she saw miniature bears for the first time and was absolutely fascinated.
She immediately started making miniature bears and because she was a keen knitter, she knitted their clothing on miniature needles (0,8mm UK21).
Today, not only does she make and design miniature bears but, now creates many different critters, such as snails; sheep; mice; rhinos; dodos, and many more. Sabine’s creations are no bigger than 8cm (3,5 inches), the smallest one she ever made was a 9mm sheep (0,35 inches). Most of her bears and animals are OOAK (one of a kind) particularly if they have hand knitted clothing and handmade accessories.
All her miniatures are disk jointed and filled with steel shot and sheep wool. She uses a wide variety of materials such as miniature teddy fabrics, rayon, plush and Ultra Suede.
Sabine is also very proud to win the Toby Industrial & Public Choice Awards 2019 with Ambrosius and his Alchemist Lab. She has more ideas she would like to bring to life. She loves to give her miniatures their own personality and will be happy if they put a little smile on your face.
